You may wish to keep some of your IT assets as you migrate to the cloud. The cloud isn’t right for all apps, and you may choose to maintain some on-premise. A hybrid or part-migration plan makes sense in this scenario because you want to keep some of your IT services in their existing location while making other changes. Because of existing regulatory or constitutional requirements, you may be required to store or operate certain parts or the whole service inside a restricted geographic area.
Services that can be switched off so that the company may concentrate on those that are extensively utilized and have immediate commercial value can be retired.
