The Lost Ark gold’s developer discusses the possibility of console ports

An interview with Amazon Game’s Franchise Leader Soomin Park recently revealed that developer Smilegate may be considering porting the critically acclaimed lost ark gold to consoles.

Following its international release in February, Lost Ark was the most talked-about new MMORPG of 2022. Gender-locked classes, bugs, and pay-to-win endgame progression have all been mentioned as reasons why the game has received some negative feedback. Despite this, it continues to be a popular contender to fill the void left by the demise of World of Warcraft as the dominant MMO.

Given the massive success of the Korean MMO on the PC, some may wonder ifLost Ark will receive a console release in the near future. As a matter of fact, the subject came up during an interview with Soomin Park, the Franchise Leader for Amazon Games. Despite the fact that his response was far from definitive, it appears that console versions are a possibility.

Another question related to this is why it took so long to locate the missing coffin. In order to get to the west. After all, the Korean version of the game was released in 2019, but it was only this year that it was made available worldwide. Park didn’t really have a good explanation for why Amazon didn’t take on Smilegate sooner, but he did point out that Amazon changed its mind after seeing the video. In the east, the missing coffin is very popular.

He observes that entertainment is becoming increasingly global, as Korean music, films, and television shows are beginning to find success in the United States and other parts of the world. According to Park, it is only natural that Korean video games will follow in the footsteps of their international counterparts. Sherif Saed, a British game journalist, recently spoke with Park about a variety of topics, including publishing rights, comparisons between Lost Ark and Diablo 3, and why Lost Ark took so long to arrive in the western world. The discussion of console ports arose in the context of the Diablo 3 comparisons, with Saed pointing out the success of the game across multiple platforms. Unfortunately, Park was unable to provide a definitive yes or no answer as to whether or not Lost Ark would be released on consoles in the near future. The director told Saed, “If Lost Ark on consoles is something that fans really want,” he believes it’s something both parties would consider.

Park is presumably referring to Amazon and Smilegate, which are co-publishers of the game and share publishing rights with one another. The company’s relationship with him was clarified when he explained why Lost Ark isn’t available in the Middle East or certain parts of Europe. Unlike previous Amazon Games titles such as New World, the company does not own the rights to the Lost Ark video game. Instead, it has formed a partnership with Korean publisher Smilegate RPG, which is in possession of the intellectual property rights. Park clarified that the agreement does not grant Amazon the right to publish Lost Ark worldwide, but rather only in specific regions of Europe, Oceania, and the Americas, according to Park. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to predict whether or when Lost Ark T3 Mats Guide will be released in additional countries.

Another question related to this was why it took so long for the Ark of the Covenant to arrive in the western hemisphere. After all, the game’s Korean release was in 2019, but it was only released internationally this year due to licensing issues. Park didn’t really have a good explanation for why Amazon didn’t approach Smilegate sooner, but he did point out that Amazon made its move after seeing Lost Ark’s popularity in the eastern United States.

He observes that entertainment is becoming increasingly global, with Korean music, films, and television shows beginning to achieve success in the United States and other parts of the world. In Park’s opinion, it is only natural that Korean video games would follow suit. Amazon, it appears, was simply the first American company to capitalize on the country’s gaming potential, rather than the first in the world.
